ABOUT ME
rebecca richardson is a cartoonist, zinester, and educator inspired by the messes and mistakes she makes everyday. Her minimalist drawings explore solitude, identity, and the small, strange patterns of the everyday. Through her visual essays, comics, illustrations, and zines, her work strives to capture the tender, fragile, and funny instances that are unspeakable.
She began making comics and zines after her first year of teaching K-12 art in 2022. Since then rebecca hasn't stopped! Her work could be found in Fruit Slice, Prologue Bookshop, her substack called Paper Guts, coffee shops, gas stations, pizzerias, buses, and in little libraries in her neighborhood. In 2024, rebecca started Zine Club Columbus, where folks make zines in community with zinesters of all experience levels in Columbus, Ohio. Teaching is her vocation and her drawings tell the story.
As a dyslexic, rebecca fondly remembers having a strong preference for the shapes of lowercase letters when first learning the alphabet. She honors her inner child by lower-casing her name :)
